Becky Wallings Runs for Parkinson's Research

Huge congratulations are in order for DPhil Student Rebecca Wallings, who completed the Dorney Lake Winter Half-Marathon this weekend, in order to raise money for Parkinson’s UK. Becky is a researcher in Richard Wade-Martin’s lab where she is trying to understand what role LRRK2 plays in Parkinson's.

Becky had signed up to the Windsor Half-Marathon, but the event was cancelled due to the snow. Becky finished the race in an impressive 2hrs 9 mins, shaving 11 mins off her personal best.

Becky has rasied over £500 for Parkinson's UK and you can still support her at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rebecca-wallings-winterhalf.

And you can also find out more about the kind of research that goes on in Becky’s lab by visiting the Wade-Martin’s Research group website.
