Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery (Kavli INsD) is where the physical sciences are brought into the cell. This 20th Kavli Foundation institute was inaugurated in April 2021 and is located at the heart of the science area in the Oxford campus.
With a strong culture of collaboration and curiosity driven research our team of 40 faculty and 400 researchers are leading discovery into the most basic unit of life, the cell.
The world leading teams from structural biology, biochemistry, pathology, chemistry, physics, physiology and engineering work together to make significant contributions to global health.
Kavli INsD is led by Professor Carol Robinson, who is a highly decorated chemist known for her work in using mass spectrometry to elucidate the 3D structures of proteins.
