newcomers' club
The Oxford University Newcomers’ Club exists to welcome to Oxford the wives/husbands/partners of newly appointed academics, of visiting academics and of postgraduate students to the University.
postdoctoral society
The DPAG Postdoctoral Society is run by and for postdocs and aims to promote interactions between postdocs to create a friendly network of skills and expertise and to welcome new postdocs joining the Department.
Postdoc lunch meetings are organised regularly for postdocs across the entire Department to meet and exchange advice and tips on their projects, career and life in Oxford.
A forum also offers postdocs a place where they can exchange and ask questions to the wider DPAG postdoc community on any subjects ranging from help on protocol, career, life in Oxford, etc.
Updates on departmental business is provided via the postdoc representative (currently Stefania Monterisi) who sits on the Departmental Committee where any potential issues can be discussed. Postdocs are also represented on the Athena SWAN Committee (Mark Richards).
