The funds have been raised by a number of events run over the year by the fundraising team, including the sales of poetry and children’s books, written by Bobbie Coelho, car boot sales and the knitting and selling scarfs and snoods. In total, the team have raised over £23,000 over the past 11 years.
“We are delighted to have been part of a fantastic evening with the money raised going to the OPDC to continue their research into Parkinson’s Disease.
A huge thanks to Mike and Kate Lawton for hosting the quiz at the Royal Oak and for making us so welcome. Along with the £2000 raised over the year, an extra £530 was raised on the night.
Though the OPDC team did not excel with the quiz itself (coming third from last), it was all about taking part and helping to raise important funds to support our ongoing research studies.” Lorraine Dyson, OPDC Administrator
