Collaboration with the OPDC
OPDC BIOSAMPLE AND DATA ACCESS COMMITTEE STATEMENT
The OPDC Discovery cohort is now able to receive new applications for data and related biosamples.
We have now merged our process for managing new applications via the Oxford Brain Bank which is a registered tissue bank. This means we can ensure longevity for future collaborations and scientific discovery. We have also put in place a charge for provision of data and biosamples, which is a cost- recovery process essential to ensure we have funding for staff to do the relevant data extracts and biosampling. In addition, Prof Michele Hu has now become data custodian for the UK-wide Tracking PD cohort (TPD, Cohort Lead Prof Donald Grosset, Consultant Neurologist), in addition to the OPDC Discovery cohort. Therefore, applicants may choose to apply to access either the OPDC Discovery Cohort or the TPD cohort individually, or for both cohorts at the same time.
