Professor Dame Kay Davies will deliver the Prize Croonian Lecture 2019 on Wednesday 10 April 2019. The lectureship was conceived by William Croone FRS, one of the original Fellows of the Society.
Her talk entitled "From diagnosis to therapy in Duchenne muscular dystrophy" will explore several promising genetic approaches for the diagnosis and treatment of inherited muscle diseases at the pre-clinical stage or in clinical trials. More details on the lecture are available on The Royal Society website.
The lecture will be webcast live and the video recording will be available shortly after the event.
Kay was awarded this year's Croonian Medal and Lecture for her achievements in developing a prenatal test for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and her work on characterising dystrophin related proteins. More details on her award can be found here.
