Clinical Anatomist

I oversee the programme of anatomy teaching in the pre-clinical medical school, playing a role in curriculum oversight, making a substantial contribution to the relevant course committees and to the ongoing development of the medical courses in respect of anatomy;

I provide the academic leadership and subject expertise required for the development, delivery and innovation of the curriculum of anatomy teaching in the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences;

I develop and apply analysis and reporting on teaching quality to set and maintain high standards, enhancing the experience of students and their training for clinical practice;

I identify and exploit opportunities to extend the use of the anatomy facility to non-medical groups and to clinicians and other allied healthcare professionals through the development of new courses and approaches;

I develop links with the clinical departments for teaching and curriculum development;

and I ensure that teaching staff have the appropriate materials, competencies and knowledge to deliver teaching relating to anatomy.
