The Safety Induction is normally conducted within your first two weeks. Any person requiring unaccompanied access to the buildings will be required to undertake a health and safety induction and to have a visitor or employee contract. If you require out-of-hours access you will need to complete an out-of-hours risk assessment which should be signed by your supervisor.
Your Safety Induction will cover the key areas of safety responsibility, give details of available safety courses and outline the actions you must undertake to be safe. Each lab should have a safety rep who will be able to help you with lab-specific safety issues.
This information is also available on the Health and Safety pages for the Department, which is available on the DPAG intranet, and can be found at this link: Department Specific Info (SSO required).
