Maxime Klausen
PhD
Research Associate
Maxime Klausen is a Research Associate working with Prof. Dame Molly Stevens at the University of Oxford in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG) and the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery (previously at Imperial College London). He completed his PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Bordeaux (France) under the supervision of Dr. Mireille Blanchard-Desce, where his work focused on the design of molecular tools for light-induced delivery of bioactive compounds, and two-photon responsive materials. He then joined the University of Edinburgh as Chemical Probe Design Research Associate to develop new photo-activated probes for precision diagnostic and therapy of infectious diseases, working with Prof. Mark Bradley. His research revolves around the development of innovative stimulus-responsive materials for applications in therapy, diagnostics and tissue engineering. His work currently focuses on the control of stem-cell differentiation with photo-activated tools, and on the development of Raman-active probes for tissue imaging. His work further spans across areas such as photo-delivery of neuro-active molecules, cancer therapy, photodynamic therapy, and point-of-care diagnostics.
