Louise Cotterell
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Officer
My role focuses on identifying and delivering effective initiatives to improve equality, diversity and inclusion. This is done through monitoring and reviewing policy, practice and culture within DPAG and delivering a five year action plan. Having supported the department to gain an Athena Swan silver gender equality award, my role has expanded to consider wider diversity issues, including race, disability and sexuality. I co-chair an Anti-Racism Working Group, Data monitoring Working Group, and Training and Career Development Working Group and founded an informal departmental LGBTQIA+ Network. My role includes staff and student consultation, surveys and focus groups, data analysis and reporting, EDI events and workshops, and coordination of diverse initiatives.
I am a Harassment Adviser, Mental Health First Aider, LGBT+ Ally and an Advance HE Athena Swan Reviewer.
