Acting HR Manager

As Acting HR Manager I have over 6 years of experience in human resources at Oxford, specialising in the unique demands of the higher education sector. I am responsible for managing a range of HR functions, ensuring the effective delivery of HR services to support the Department and wider University's strategic goals. In my role, I oversee recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and staff development initiatives. I work with Divisional HR and colleagues across the University to align HR practices with institutional priorities, fostering a positive and productive work environment. My key responsibilities include: Leading the recruitment and selection process for academics, research, and PSS staff, ensuring compliance with university policies and employment legislation. Managing employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, absences, and performance management. Providing guidance on career development and progression, working with the People and Organisational Development Unit to develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff skills. Collaborating with senior leadership to drive organisational change and improve HR processes. Ensuring the Department's HR policies and practises are in alignment with the university’s policies and current legislation and best practices. I am committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within the Department, working to create an environment where all staff members feel valued and supported.
