My name is Inesh and I am a medical student. In the Bajo-Lorenzana group I am examining the descending projections of the auditory cortex to the midbrain. Specifically, I am studying the effect of laser activation of the cortico-collicular pathway on the spectral processing of sound within the inferior colliculus. Going forward we hope to examine the effect of this pathway on auditory behaviour.
