I am a BBSRC-funded DPhil student in Professor Robin Klemm's group. My project falls within an industrial collaboration with Dr Maxwell Ruby at the Novo Nordisk Research Centre in Oxford.
My research aims to elucidate novel players involved in the hepatic insulin signalling pathway in an attempt to better understand mechanisms of insulin resistance in the liver. To achieve this, I will be carrying out an genome-wide loss-of-function CRISPR screen in combination with various biochemical and imaging tools to further validate and explore the results.
Prior to this, I obtained an MRes in Bioengineering from the University of Edinburgh where I investigated the role of cytochrome P450 oxidoreductase activity in liver injury.
