Postdoctoral Researcher

In 2024, I earned my PhD from the University of Aberdeen, focusing on the therapeutic potential of Omega-3 endocannabinoids in alleviating neuroinflammation-driven central neuropathic pain (CNP) following spinal cord injury. My research highlighted the crucial roles of glial activation and the intricate neuron-glia crosstalk in the development of CNP. During my PhD, I also worked as a Research Assistant (part-time) at the Scottish Biologics Facility in partnership with TauRx Therapeutics Ltd. In this role, I contributed to the development of candidate antibodies for Alzheimer's disease (AD) immunotherapy, employing SIMOA technology to assess and measure biomarkers from patient samples. Now, as part of the AD project within the GSK IMCM, I am working as a Postdoc Researcher in Carlyle’s lab on developing biomarkers for stratifying people with Alzheimer’s Disease. By measuring proteins in biofluids and brain tissue from people with AD, I hope to discover markers that may ultimately be used for personalising treatment for people suffering from this disease.
