About the ARUK Thames Valley Network Centre
The Alzheimer's Research UK (ARUK) Thames Valley Network Centre brings together researchers in and around the Thames Valley region with expertise in dementia and cognition using a range of techniques including imaging, neuropathology, genetics and model systems. The Network Centre unites dementia researchers across the Universities of Oxford, Reading and Oxford Brookes.
The ARUK Thames Valley Network Centre supports and coordinates dementia research within the region by providing pilot grants and travel awards, organises research events and annual public open days.
We currently have members from Oxford Brookes University, University of Reading as well as members across various Oxford University departments including Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Nuffield Department of Medicine, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, Department of Psychiatry, Department of Pharmacology, Radcliffe Department of Medicine. The Oxford Brain Bank is part of the Brains for Dementia Research network.
Dr Becky Carlyle is the Academic Coordinator of the network.
