The 2021 Sherrington talks were presented by graduate students in their third year of DPhil research study.

The 2021 Sherrington Talks took place on Friday 11 and Friday 18 June 2021 via Microsoft Teams and were presented by third year DPAG DPhil Students.

Three prize winners were selected by a judging panel comprised of members of the Graduate Studies Committee and the viewing audience. Prizes of Blackwell’s gift tokens have been awarded; £50 to the winner and £25 to each of the two runners-up.

Congratulations to the three prize winners:

Winner - Lucija Fleisinger

Lucija Fleisinger, who is supervised by Associate Professor Sarah De Val and Dr Alice Neal, gave a presentation entitled: "Endothelial KLF2 is developmentally regulated by two distal enhancers"

Runners-up - William Stockdale and Rishi Anand

William Stockdale, who is supervised by Associate Professor Mathilda Mommersteeg and Professor Paul Riley, gave a presentation entitled: "Myocardial proliferation and the metabolic response during heart regeneration in the Mexican cavefish"

Rishi Anand, who is supervised by Professor Stephanie Cragg and Dr Katherine Brimblecombe, gave a presentation entitled: "Striatal glycine inhibits axonal dopamine release in a region-specific manner and partly via regulation of striatal ACh"
