Congratulations to Group Leader and MRC Career Development Fellow Dr Mootaz Salman, who has been awarded the Society for Experimental Biology (SEB) 2024 President’s Medal for the Cell Biology Section.

It is one of three President’s Medals that are awarded each year to early career scientists who have made outstanding contributions to their respective field of Animal, Cell and Plant Biology.

Dr Salman has been recognised for his contributions to better understanding the cell biology of the blood-brain barrier, which has significantly impacted the current knowledge and research on neurodegenerative diseases and drug development.

Dr Salman is invited to receive his medal and speak at the SEB annual Conference, which this year will take place from 2 - 5 July 2024 in Prague.

On receipt of his award, Dr Salman said: “I am humbled and honoured to have received this prestigious award. I am grateful for all the wonderful professors who inspired me and led by example in my early years, as well as all the amazing colleagues, and others who I have been privileged to teach, collaborate with, and hopefully inspire”

The award is now live on SEB website: https://www.sebiology.org/resource/meet-our-2024-president-medalists.html
