Professor David Paterson with founding members of the Heart Rhythm Club

On Tuesday 29 October the inaugural seminar of the Heart Rhythm Club was delivered by Head of Department Professor David Paterson on the heart-brain axis and how disruption in the crosstalk between the nervous and cardiac systems leads to arrhythmias.

We were very excited to hear Professor Paterson's data and to participate in the vibrant discussion during the reception. We are very grateful to Professor Paterson for endorsing this initiative and to everyone who attended and look forward to seeing you at the next seminar on the 11 of November when Associate Professor Naveed Akbar will talk to us about extracellular vesicles in myocardial infarction.
