We are delighted to announce that Professor Richard Wade-Martins has formally accepted the offer to become DPAG's new Head of Department. Outgoing Head Professor David Paterson says, 'I am delighted to announce that Professor Richard Wade-Martins will become our next Head of Department at the start of the 2026-27 academic year as I complete my 10-year term. Richard is a long-standing member of the department and I wish him and his team every success for the future in leading this outstanding department.'
Professor Richard Wade-Martin says, 'I am excited to have the opportunity to lead DPAG as the new Head of Department. DPAG is a tremendous environment for research and teaching with an outstanding international reputation. I look forward to working for us all to build an inspirational place to do science in an inclusive and supportive way.
I would also like to thank David for his dedicated hard work over the last ten years. He has achieved a huge amount, recruiting new leading academics to the Department and establishing an impressive program of infrastructure development. David has placed DPAG on a firm foundation for the future.'
