Congratulations to Aaron Jiashuo Zhang, who has won the William C Stanley Early Investigator Award at the Society for Heart and Vascular Metabolism conference 2026. Aaron will give a talk in October in Osaka Japan, titled: Epigenetic reprogramming via dysregulated H3K9 trimethylation drives cardiac energetic dysfunction in type 2 diabetes.
The William C. Stanley Award highlights the scientific accomplishments of promising young researchers and is a major focus of the Annual Meeting of the Society for Heart and Vascular Metabolism.
Aaron is a fourth year DPhil student in the Heather Group funded by the Clarendon Scholarship in partnership with the St Cross College and the DPAG studentship. He is supervised by Associate Professor Lisa Heather, Dr Thomas Nicol, and Dr Susann Bruche.
