PhD

Postdoctoral Research Scientist

I am a postdoctoral research scientist in the group of Professor Dame Molly Stevens, working on the design of innovative bioconjugation strategies for precision biosensing and therapeutics. I have a strong interest in bioconjugation chemistry: I find it amazing that we can carry out highly specific/selective reactions on complex biomolecules under such restrictive conditions. Originally from an organic chemistry background, I carried out my PhD in the group of Dr. Chris Spicer at the University of York (2020-24), where I developed new strategies for N-terminal protein modification with improved kinetics and stability. I then moved to the Technical University of Vienna for a postdoctoral research position in the group of Dr. Anne Conibear (2025-26), where I used protein semi-synthesis to prepare precisely modified protein variants for intracellular localisation studies.
