Visiting Master's Student

I am a visiting Master’s student currently in the first year of my Biomedical Sciences (Neurobiology) program at the University of Amsterdam. I joined the laboratory of Dr. Hugo Fernandes as part of my research internship. My research focuses on lipid metabolism in the context of Alzheimer’s disease, with a particular focus on cholesterol regulation in human cortical neurons derived from iPSCs. Through this project, we aim to better understand how disruptions in neuronal lipid homeostasis contribute to Alzheimer’s disease–related pathology and neurodegeneration.
