Professor Dame Molly Stevens has been invited to become an International member of the USA’s National Academy of Medicine (NAM).
Founded in 1970 as the Institute of Medicine, the National Academy of Medicine is one of three academies that make up the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in the United States. The National Academies are private, nonprofit institutions that work outside government to provide objective advice on matters of science, technology, and health.
Each year, the NAM elects up to 90 new members from the United States, as well as up to 10 international members. Membership signifies the pinnacle of professional achievement and commitment to volunteer service in the activities of the NAM and the National Academies.
Professor Stevens comments, ‘This recognition from the National Academy of Medicine reflects the outstanding work of my talented team who share the common vision of making advanced healthcare innovations accessible to all. Our progress has always been driven by multidisciplinary collaboration and the belief that technology should serve society. I’m excited to continue working to bridge gaps and shape a more inclusive future for medicine.’
