Sam Mullan

BA (Oxon)

DPhil Student

I am an MRC-funded DPhil student in Professor Gero Miesenböck’s lab. My work focuses on sleep homeostasis, primarily using Drosophila as a model organism. I read pre-clinical medicine at St Hugh’s College and graduated with a BA in 2023. During my pre-clinical studies, I undertook a research project in the Ashcroft lab where I investigated metabolic gene expression in pancreatic β-cells. I then completed the first year of clinical medical training and aim to return to clinical school after completing my doctorate.
