Jean-Philippe Dufour

DPhil Student

I am a DPhil student in DPAG in Ed Mann's lab focusing on cortical synaptic plasticity. For this, I am applying in vivo and in vitro electrophysiological recording methods in mice. Currently, I am investigating the differential rules governing synpatic plasticity in the barrel cortex of mice during slow-wave sleep.

I have completed my medical degree from the University of Zurich in 2019 and am planning on pursuing a career in neurosurgery after completion of my DPhil, while using the skills acquired during my research in Oxford to bridge the gap to fundamental neuroscience.

I am generously funded by a Berrow Foundation Lord Florey scholarship, which is aimed at Swiss citizens pursuing a postgraduate degree in biomedical sciences at Lincoln College, Oxford.
