Our History
Medicine has been taught at the University of Oxford for at least eight centuries, producing a succession of famous figures and landmarks in research and learning. Whilst the Department in its current form is only just over a decade old, physiology and anatomy have played an important role in the history of medicine at Oxford since the beginning.

Wanda Groenewald, Senior Research and Finance Manager
Wanda came to DPAG in July 2020, joining us after running the Finance team at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences. As Senior Research and Finance Manager, she is responsible for bringing the Finance and Research Administration teams together into a cohesive and streamlined unit and overseeing the department’s financial and research strategy. Lydia Mayfield, Research Administration Officer
Lydia joined DPAG in August 2016, first starting as an Administration Assistant in the Research Administration Team, joining us from the National Trust where she had worked in a variety of roles. As Research Administration Officer now, she is responsible for maintaining a portfolio of grants to support DPAG's research groups and contributes to the development of new processes that are adopted University-wide. Interview on Wednesday 29 April.
