A-Z of DPAG Women
Women have worked and studied at the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (established in 2006), and its predecessors, the Laboratory of Physiology (established in 1883) and Department of Human Anatomy (established in 1893), hereafter referred to collectively as DPAG, for more than a century. Our former staff and student alumni were nominated by current staff, students and emeritus members of DPAG and are inspirational role-models for current and future staff and students alike. We are also proud of our current staff and are delighted to feature selected current women profiled in the centenary year.
We have verified our information either directly with the women themselves or through formal online sources such as obituaries in order to ensure accuracy as best possible. Unfortunately, as women were often not celebrated during their lifetime, their timelines are, in some instances, an approximation.
Meet all 61 selected women to mark the centenary of women making history at Oxford. More profiles may follow if future nominations are received.
