Xiaoming Hu

Postgraduate Student

I am a DPhil student in the group since Oct 2012.

After receiving my degrees in Computing and Engineering, I joined the ranks of bioinformatician and have been analyzing Next-Gen sequencing data ever since. My research interest revolves around knowledge discovery, clustering/classification, transcription regulation, motif analysis and disease genomics, with the majority of them in the context of Next-Gen Sequencing. Most of my time was spent "having fun" with Python, and sometimes Mysql, PHP, Matlab.

In my spare time, I like to read about the amazing developments of brain science, as well as modern physics. E.g. the Invisibility Cloak, entangled photons, Higgs Boson etc.
