Viviana Macarelli

I obtained my BSc in Biotechnology from University of Bologna (Italy) in 2017 (magna cum laude).

I am currently undertaking a Master’s Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Bologna and, as part of my MSc, I have a 10 month visiting studentship to work in Oxford.

I am working on a collaborative project between the Szele (DPAG) and O’Neill (Dep. Of Oncology) groups to better understand the mechanisms of glioma progression.

My work’s main focus is the influence of Galectin-3 on Hippo pathway activation in human adult neural progenitor cells in the subventricular zone (SVZ).
