Earned his PhD from Stockholm University in 2010, by studying embryonic tracheal development in Drosophila. He then moved to MRC-Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge to pursue postdoctoral research, in the field of comparative genetics to study human genes of unknown function in fly orthologs. His research interests then brought him to University of Oxford to understand mammalian gene function during early embryonic development by making transgenics.
