Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Dr Gunasekaran Subramaniam received his Bachelor and Masters degree from the Tamilnadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, India. He was awarded his PhD degree from the University Of Bergen, Norway. Before joining Prof. Manuela Zaccolo’s lab, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr Jytosna Dhawan’s laboratory at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), India, after receiving the National Post Doctoral Research Fellowship.

His current research work focusses on understanding the involvement of PKA signalling and Phosphodiesterase (PDEs) in causing cardiac hypertrophy and delineating a possible mechanism through which it might affect transcription factors involved in heart pathophysiology.
