This project aims to create a tissue engineering scaffold for brain tissue regeneration. To mimic the natural environment for neural stem cells to survive, proliferate and differentiate, biomaterials including collagen and hyaluronic acid are being used. I’m particularly interested in modifying their concentrations and mechanical properties to direct neural differentiation. This device is aimed to treat brain diseases such as Traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and other neurodegeneration diseases, with the hope that it can regenerate the lost neuron.
