James Wantling
Research Assistant
I graduated from the University of Oxford in 2020 with a first class BA in Cell and Systems Biology. As part of my degree, I had the opportunity to undertake an extended research project in the Department of Oncology, investigating the effect of epigenetic inhibitors on the phenotype of a pancreatic cancer cell line. I am delighted to now be working in the James Martin Stem Cell Facility and have the opportunity to explore the potential of iPS cells in modelling disease. In particular, my work will involve differentiating iPS cells to microglia and characterising their cellular phenotype in the context of Parkinson’s disease-associated PINK1 or Parkin mutations.
