Ludovica Griffanti pub eventThis May, Dr Ludovica Griffanti was among scientists who spoke at the sell-out Beautiful Minds session at the St Aldates Tavern, Oxford.

The event was part of the Pint of Science series which brings some of the most brilliant scientists to local pubs to discuss their latest research and findings.

Dr Griffanti is a researcher with OPDC at the Oxford Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain (FMRIB). Her talk dealt with her current research which focuses on using advanced MRI analysis to understand risk for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.

Dr Griffanti volunteered to speak having really enjoyed a pint of science event a few years ago on an event unrelated to her own field of expertise.  After the event Dr Griffanti said, “I found a relaxed and friendly environment, which was prefect for my first talk to a lay audience. Great experience, highly recommended!”
