Several members of our Department joined the Town and Gown 10K race on Sunday May 12 2019 as runners or volunteers. They were part of a record number of nearly 4,500 runners who between them raised over £2 million for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
The Davies Group's Arran Babbs and Ben Edwards, and Mary McMenanin joined the MDUK Oxford Neuromuscular Centre's team, a 21-strong group of fundraisers, runners and volunteers.
The team have raised £1,588.96 to date, which is 317% of their £500 target. Their JustGiving page is still open for anyone who would like to show their support and photographs of the team can be viewed here.
Nicole Le Grand, the Centre's Project Manager, commented that "it was a warm day, the air was filled with positive energy, and I personally left feeling inspired and ready to give my all to my job to help make a difference however I can for the people living with these devastating diseases."
Helen Christian ran with the St Anne's College team and was delighted to achieve a time of 1 hour 3 minutes and 21 seconds. Many congratulations to Helen!
Zoltán Molnár ran with the St John's College team, where he is Sports Officer. He was very proud of his team's achievement and also commended the DPAG volunteers who distributed water around the 8K mark.
