In a new article published in Blood, the journal of the American Society of Hematology, researchers from the Department of Physiology, Anatomy, and Genetics (DPAG) and The Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS) at the University of Oxford present compelling evidence that challenges established notions about oxygen delivery during organ perfusion.
A new paper lead by DPhil student Bobby White and Professor Pawel Swietach from DPAG\u2019s Swietach Group explores the role that somatic mutations affecting plasma membrane acid-base transporters play in human cancer evolution. The team identify acid-base transporters that are essential to cancer cell survival, and those where somatic mutations are likely to play a driving role in certain cancer types.
