\n \n \n \nPreclinical Medicine Undergraduate students Thomas Henning, Ivan Jim Paul and Owen Sweeney have helped Oxford build on last year to achieve the University's best ever performance in The National Undergraduate Neuroanatomy Competition. \n \n \n \nA computational modelling study from the King Group demonstrates that the way sounds are transformed from the ear to the brain\u2019s auditory cortex may be simpler than expected. These findings not only highlight the value of computational modelling for determining the principles underlying neural processing, but could also be useful for improving treatments for patients with hearing loss.

\n \n \n \nAn international event held on Saturday 7 March and organised by DPAG's Cristiana Vagnoni and Tai-Ying Lee aimed to increase visibility of women in academia by creating or enhancing their online presence in the form of Wikipedia profiles. A new report from the organisers shows some impressive statistics, including 160,000 views of newly edited and created articles, demonstrating a strong effort to raise the profiles of many female academics.
