On 7th November, abstracts of posters were presented by DPAG Graduate Students at the start of their Second Year of DPhil Research Study. An academic panel of judges spent a morning viewing each poster to determine the prize winners to receive Blackwell’s tokens. A cartoonist was on hand to record the event this year – below are the prize winner’s cartoons depicting their research.
The two runners-up were Matthew Kerr (Tyler/Heather group) “Type 2 diabetic mitochondria overcome fatty acyl CoA inhibition, but have reduced respiration” and Séverin Limal (Kohl/King/Walker group) “Barrel cortex responses to somatosensory stimuli during discrimination training: toward multisensory integration” with the winner being Bradley Roberts (Cragg group) “GABA uptake by striatal dopamine axons supports dopamine transmission”
