Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Dr Kristijan Jovanoski is a neuroscientist investigating fundamental mechanisms of learning and memory in the Waddell Group at the Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour. Kristijan presented his latest findings on how dopamine systems can create reward seeking despite adverse consequences in the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster at the Gordon Research Conference on Catecholamines (2023). These results have recently been published in Nature

Previously, Kristijan read for a Bachelor of Biomedicine (Neuroscience with Honours in Biochemistry) and a Master of Philosophy (Physics) at the University of Melbourne, then for a Doctor of Philosophy (Neuroscience) at Magdalen College, the University of Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship. During his DPhil, Kristijan was also co-President of the Oxford Neuroscience Society Cortex Club from 2016 to 2017.
