Final year DPhil student, Rita Alonaizan, supervised by Associate Professor Carolyn Carr and Associate Professor Nicola Smart, has won the Phenotype Snapshot cover content for Michaelmas 2018.
Her research here at DPAG aims to better define cardiac nonmyocyte populations found in the adult mouse heart by detailed examination of their expression profile at the single cell level, and to optimise cell therapy for cardiac repair following myocardial infarction by harnessing advances in the field of microRNA therapeutics.
Her winning image shows an adult mouse heart section positive for the fluorescent protein tditomato, with the nuclei stained with DAPI, and can be viewed in the latest issue of Phenotype Magazine. Details of the contest can be found on page 30.
