Alexa Cosma

Research Assistant

As Research Assistant in the Riley Lab at the IDRM, I perform surgical procedures required to create rodent models of cardiac disease, injury and repair, undertake post-operative care of animals who have undergone surgical procedures, and manage and maintain animal colonies at all stages from mating to genotyping personally. I also act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group and other groups within the department on surgical protocols and experimental techniques, and aid in the planning of large-scale experimental schedules based on surgical procedures.
